Adolescent Bodybuilding: Is It Too Early To Start?

Adolescent bodybuilding is a great way to instill discipline and start out on the road to a healthy lifestyle at a young age. In contrast to bodybuilding for the older crowd, adolescent bodybuilding has a completely different set of rules; reps and sets change, as well as the amount of weight, frequency of workouts, even goals and motivation.

Home Many Days

Adolescent bodybuilding workouts should not be undertaken more than three days a week to start. In fact, three days is ideal in adolescent bodybuilding. Once you gain more experience you can lift four or five days a week. It is important to stick to this schedule in adolescent bodybuilding to avoid over exertion. Yes, the younger you are the easier you bounce back, but you should avoid this urge for at least a while.

Length of Session

One hour should be plenty, but no more than 90 minutes. You might be young, but you are not invincible. If you push your body to hard it can set you back on your road to success by forcing you to take extra days off to recover.

Reps, Sets and Weights

These are probably the most difficult aspects of adolescent bodybuilding to establish. This is because you will have to experiment and see what works best for you. What works best for some may not always work for everybody else. Play around with weight, sets and reps to see what works best. This can take a few months so be patient and do not get discouraged. Every young person interested in adolescent bodybuilding has gone through the same process.

Goal Setting

As with any form of bodybuilding, in adolescent bodybuilding you should have goal. These goals should be reasonable and achievable in a short period of time, and by reasonable, I do not mean aim to look like the Incredible Hulk within six weeks. A good form of motivation is to take a picture of yourself in a bathing suit as you undertake your healthy lifestyle choice and compare your body to it as you begin to excel at your adolescent bodybuilding program.

Rewards

The older crowd of bodybuilders can appreciate the rewards of a longer life span, but for those in the adolescent bodybuilding domain the rewards are more along the lines of impressing the opposite sex and feeling good about themselves. There is nothing wrong with this. Self-esteem is important at this age in a young person?s life, so if adolescent bodybuilding helps accomplish this, then great. What really matters (good health, discipline and self control) will come later.

The Advantages of Home Exercise Gyms

As membership fees of fitness clubs soar higher and higher, more and more people are beginning to realize the practicalities of simply having their own home gyms. There are many benefits for owners of home gyms to enjoy, and if you don?t believe us, we?ll give you all the reasons you need to feel otherwise.

HOME EXERCISE GYMS ARE YOURS FOR LIFE

Yes, of course, fitness clubs offer lifetime memberships too, but there?s always a chance that the company would go bankrupt and just as easy as that, your membership is completely gone. And it?s surely non-refundable, too!

NO NEED TO TRAVEL FAR

If you?re exercising in the local gym or a la-di-dah fitness club, you?d no doubt need to travel even just a few minutes to reach the place. And when your destination is an hour away and traffic?s worse than usual, you tend to lose interest and postpone your trip for the next day and the cycle goes on and on. With your own gym at home, however, there?s no excuse for you not to exercise everyday, and you?ll surely be in better shape in no time!

NO NEED TO CONTEND WITH WORKING HOURS

Unless you?re lucky enough to have the money to pay for 24-hour-fitness centers, there?s a very good chance that you?re still subjected to the working hours of a typical fitness center. But what happens when you have to work overtime, and you still feel the urge to exercise?

HOME EXERCISE GYMS ARE LESS EXPENSIVE

Rather than pay the monthly fees that fitness clubs charge ? we?re assuming you can?t afford the super expensive lifetime membership dues ? why not purchase exercise equipment that you can use anytime and as long as you wish because they?re YOURS?

And you know the best thing about this? Everyone in your family can make use of your home gym! No need to pay membership fees per person!

The Benefits of Free Weights Home Gyms

If they say that the world?s divided between two types of people, the vanilla lovers against the chocolate addicts, in the world of exercise, it?s a war between the free weights enthusiasts against the people who love using exercise machines.

Now, if you?re leaning more about purchasing exercise machines, we?ll simply play devil?s advocate by pointing out the many benefits you can enjoy with free weights home gyms.

FREE WEIGHTS HOME GYMS ARE LESS EXPENSIVE

There is no way that free weights would become more expensive than any exercise machine ? even if they?re older models or secondhand purchases. If you?re short on money, free weights home gyms are your best options.

THEY TAKE UP LESS SPACE

There are of course a few exercise machines that are foldable. The keyword here is few. Free weights, on the other hand, no matter how heavy, are always no trouble to hide from plain view. If you want a gym that takes up minimal space, free weights are truly the answer to your prayers.

THEY SERVE MANY PURPOSES

More often than not, exercise machines tend to serve a solitary purpose; a treadmill, for instance, can never let you do anything but walk or run in a straight line. Free weights, however, can serve multiple purposes, depending on how you use them. They can either help you increase your muscle strength or simply get rid of unwanted fat.

THEY ARE PORTABLE

If you?re going away on a trip, there?s no reason why you can?t bring your dumbbells with you, especially if you?re bringing your car. Exercise machines, on the other hand, are anything but portable.

THEY CAN BE USED FOR TARGET ZONES

Dumbbells and barbells will do great wonders if you?re aiming specifically for your arms.

So what?s your final verdict? Whatever your answer is, we do hope that you become fit as soon as possible. Have fun exercising!

Fitness Trainers Recommended Bodybuilding Supplements

Today, having a healthy-looking and muscular body is considered to be very attractive. You have to consider that having that extra fat and those love handles or even that beer belly can be very embarrassing. This is why if you have all those extra padding in your body, you should enroll in a fitness gym and start developing those muscles through body building.

Sure there are liposuction surgeries available today that you can consider having and also one that can give you fast results in getting a slim body. However, a slim body isn't the same as a well-toned body. Liposuction surgery only sucks out the excess fat and does nothing to develop your muscles. The best way to get a great looking and muscular body is by exercising and through body building programs offered by professional fitness trainers.

First of all, you have to consider that muscles burn fat. As you exercise, the muscles burn the fat for fuel. You also need to consider that muscles weigh more than fat. So after a series of workout and you weighed in, and you saw that there is no significant change in your weight or you gained a few pounds, this means that your muscles are developing.

You also need to consider that there are different available dietary supplements that fitness trainers recommend in order to help in your muscle tissue development. Always remember that you should only take body building supplements that are recommended by your fitness trainer. However, you should also avoid fitness trainers that recommend anabolic steroids as a body building supplement.

You need to know that anabolic steroids are illegal and although it can give you a muscular body, the side effects of anabolic steroids can be very severe. It can include heart diseases and weakening of the muscles. It was also found that anabolic steroids weaken the bones and also been linked to impotence.

These are some of the things you should consider when you are choosing the right fitness trainer. A good and professional fitness trainer and body builders will explain to you that anabolic steroids are bad for your body. They will recommend a more natural body building supplement, such as createnine monohydrate, whey proteins, and glutamine to name three.

These three products are normally found in the muscles. You also have to consider that the body and the muscles naturally need the mentioned products in order for it to maintain its health. As you can see, these products are natural and therefore, legal. The only catch about these products is that it's in its pure form and is made for maximum absorption.

However, you also need to remember that these products will only work if you maintain your workout routines that your fitness or body building trainer gives you. Don?t think that you can take these body building supplements and wait for your muscles to grow as you lie down on your couch and watch TV. You have to consider that these body building supplements are merely aids in getting your body to reach its maximum potential in order for you to work out extra hard.

These body building supplements can enhance your muscle strength and it can also help in the repair process of your muscles after an intensive workout that usually injures your muscles.

These are the available body building supplements that a good fitness and body building professional will recommend. Always remember that a good professional fitness and body building trainer will only recommend body building supplements that are natural and are essential in your body's health. Never compromise your health with unprofessional body builders and fitness trainers that recommend dangerous and illegal body building supplements, such as steroids.

Tips for Buying Affordable Home Gyms

Contrary to popular opinion, building affordable home gyms is actually a very easy idea to translate into reality if you heed the right advice. The phrase affordable home gyms is a factual phrase and not an oxymoron!

Browse through the tips listed below and see which ones would work for you. We have no doubt that by the end of this article you'll already have a fairly complete idea about how you can be one of the lucky owners of an affordable home gym!

Focus on Simplicity

Do not let yourself be swept away by the many rising ?fashionable? trends in the world of fitness. Although these trends do have benefits to offer, they usually cost more than the average exercise routine we?re used to. Experts point out how the regular use of free weights and an exercise machine (a simple treadmill or an exercise bike could do) can easily aid you in your quest for a better physique.

Focus on Your Needs

If all you need is a total body workout to further tone the muscles that you already have, then make sure that your home gym?s able to fully satisfy those needs and avoid spending more than you should.

Choose the Best Room

A good room to renovate as your home gym would be one that enjoys good ventilation. Without good ventilation, you?d be obliged to make use of an air-conditioner to get rid of the undesirable smell of body sweat.

Choose a Good Quality Motorized Treadmill

Most novice home gym owners usually think that purchasing the cheapest of treadmills is the best thing to do. Unfortunately, they?re wrong. Cheap treadmills tend to cause more injuries to the user and what?s the point of saving on equipment cost when it?s certainly going to be offset by increasing medical expenses?

Purchase Used Equipment

Naturally, purchasing secondhand gym equipment can save you much money as opposed buying firsthand exercise machines.

What are Digital Home Gyms

If you're a technophile and tend to look at the old age use of barbells and other free weights with reluctance and maybe even a modicum of disgust, you're definitely more suited to digital home gyms.

Technology has indeed made its impact on the world of physical fitness and has resulted in the proliferation of digital home gyms. Digital home gyms are certainly more expensive to set up than other types of home gyms, but if you believe you?ll be happy with nothing but that, here are some tips on what you should concentrate on to make your home gym positively congruent with the digital revolution.

THE LOOK AND FEEL

Your personal gym must have a futuristic look to it if you wish it to become as modern as possible. A futuristic look would often encompass furniture and design made in basic colors of black, gray, and white and materials that consist of glass and metal. Absolutely no country style d?cor is allowed.

VENTILATION AND SOUNDPROOFING

Your digital home gym must be air-conditioned. Furthermore, anything that has to do with ventilation must be kept out of sight (air pipes, etc.), and if that's not possible, they should be designed in such a way that it would not detract from the gym's overall look.

Walls must be soundproofed as well to allow you to play music as loudly as you wish.

MODERN EQUIPMENT

Body Monitoring Among other things, the equipment used in your personal gym must be able to detect your heart rate, your blood pressure, and the amount of fats and calories you?ve been able to burn in how many minutes? worth of exercising.

Fully Electrical Nothing manual must be found in this room.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

And of course, who can forget the need for great music when exercising. So do make sure that you've got ample space for your 10-part sound system that's sure to bring the roof down!

Is Teenage Bodybuilding A Good Idea

Bodybuilding can be a great activity for teenagers for many different reasons. Certainly developing your body can be great for your confidence no matter how old you are. Teenage bodybuilding can present some challenges and things to be cautious of as well. Let's look at some of the pluses and minuses of bodybuilding for teenagers.

Let's get this basic thing out of the way right up front. You should go get a physical from your doctor and get his view on the proper diet and exercise to start out with. Jumping into bodybuilding if you have not been active physically recently is not the way to get started.

From a growth standpoint teenagers bodies are not done growing until they are at least 15 years old. For others it could be several years before you are doing growing. So you always want to be cautious of paying attention to what your body is telling you.

Eating right is big part of bodybuilding for teenagers and all bodybuilders. As you begin to lift your body will require more calories. If you are a junk food eater you will need to stop that. Load up on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, red meat, fish, and more proteins in general. Drink a lot of water and always keep yourself hydrated.

When you start lifting hire a trainer. You need to learn to lift correctly to avoid injuring yourself. A trainer will help you develop the proper form and keep you realistic as well. Teenagers may think they are superman and go overboard when they really need to start lifting weight at a reasonable amount for their size and ability.

Let's address supplements. First of all do not take steroids. You can result you want without putting your body in danger. Go for natural supplements like a good multivitamin, protein powders like hemp or whey, fatty acids and glutamine.

When you are training start out slow. This is another benefit of hiring a trainer. 3 times a week is plenty when you first start out. It is important that your body has time to recover between workouts. Also it is important that you get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Even more if you can get it.

Teenagers tend to stay up late and if you have school the next day you need to change your sleep habits. Your body will quickly adjust to what you ask it to do. If bodybuilding is important to you this is one change you must do.

Teenage bodybuilding requires you to do the same things as adult bodybuilding, but in greater moderation until your body is fully developed.

Home gyms Vs Commercial gyms

When channel flicking, there are two different kinds of workout ads that grace your television on a daily basis. Commercial gym ads, including Bally and Gold's, promote the purchase of health club memberships to achieve "satisfying" workout results.

But, if you listen to Christie Brinkley, Chuck Norris and millions of other people around the world, you will find that the benefits from owning a home gym far exceed the pricey commercial gyms and health clubs of today.

A Real Time and Money Saver

With the purchase of a home gym, not only will you save time travelling back and forth to a commercial gym, but also save tons of money. Every time you hop in your car to go to the Curves across town or Gold's Gym down the street, you are wasting gas and money. This money could be better spent in creating a gym in your home that doesn't lead to monthly club fees and yearly membership dues.

Work Out On Your Own Schedule

Commercial gyms that are open for service both night and day are a rare sight. There are times you may have the urge to work out in the middle of the night, sometimes at the crack of dawn. You might want to workout once a day or increase your routine to ten times per week. Do you want to be travelling back and forth to a gym to use equipment you can have in the comforts of your own home?

And what if there is a severe thunderstorm, snowstorm or holiday? Does this mean your workout must wait because commercial gyms pause for these circumstances? When you own a home gym, you can work out on your own time and schedule, no matter how frequent, late or early in the day.

Better Environment

There are many distractions to ignore when joining a commercial gym. If it isn't the bodybuilder flexing his muscles or the size 2 flaunting her abs, you might not be in the most encouraging environment for your workouts. The noise of rattling weights and racing treadmills may also cause disruptions in your workout. All of this is out of your control and you are paying for every minute of it.

When you purchase a home gym, you can create the environment that promotes the best workout for you. Maybe you like to pop in your favourite movie or inspirational flick. Perhaps, you like to talk on the telephone or have your pet hanging around. Some people like to sweat and workout without the watchful eyes of their peers. For some, this is not a competition, it is a lifestyle change or an approach towards a healthier body.

So, what better place to sculpt, tone and chisel your frame than in the warm surroundings you are most familiar with and can control? A home gym is the perfect answer to getting the most out of your workout plans and goals.

10 Steps to Safe Gymnastics at Home and in the Gym

Build Your Strength First

It is much safer and much easier to make build sufficient strength first to perform the skills you are trying to learn. If you are not strong enough, you will never be able to do many gymnastics skills no matter how many times you try. Building strength also makes you safer in potentially dangerous fall situations.

Pay Attention

You need to be aware of what is going on around you in the gym if there are other gymnasts, especially bigger ones, around. You need to be aware and pay attention to everything and everyone around you who might crash into you or land on you. You also need to pay careful attention to your coach so you understand exactly what they expect of you to learn efficiently and keep yourself safe.

Check Equipment First

Make sure all equipment is set and sturdy before you begin to perform any skills on it. Handles and cables need to be tight enough so the equipment is safe for you to be on. Don?t assume the equipment is correctly set and tight. Check it an make sure first.

Know Fall Zones

Don?t sit or stand in potential landing or fall zones. Too often gymnasts waiting for their turn do not stay enough out of the way of other gymnasts who need adequate room to dismount or a place to fall.

Don?t Do Gymnastics By Yourself

Just like swimming and other physical activities where there is even the remotest chance of injury, gymnasts should only work out when there is at least one other person around. This means on those home trampolines, too.

Don?t Spot Other Gymnasts

Spotting is an art and requires the knowledge, strength and experience of a gymnastics professional. Any error in judgement on your or their part could lead to you being involved and responsible for their potentially serious injury.

Only Let Professional Coaches Spot You

By the same token, you should only let qualified gymnastics professionals spot you on skills you cannot do and need help with. You risk potentially serious injury by being spotted or coached by someone who is not qualified, knowledgeable, experienced or strong enough.

Don?t Be Afraid to Ask for a Spot

Ask for a spot if you are doing tricks if you need or want it. You are the one most likely to know and remember if you need a spot or not and it will be too late if you attempt a skill you are not sure of and fall. Spotting can protect you and build your confidence in doing the skill until you are ready to do it on your own safely. Don?t tell a coach that you can do skills if you are not 100% sure you can do them safely.

Stop, Look And Listen

Just like crossing a street, when you approach an equipment area, the floor exercise mat, tumbling strips or other mats and pieces of equipment, you need to stop and look both ways before you cross or enter to make sure you are not in the way or going to get landed on.

Watch Where You are Going

Watch where you are walking. Nothing is more embarrassing and sometimes painful and dangerous than falling over mats, into pits, over bar cables, etc. There are lots of obstacles in every gym like different heights and softness levels of mats.

Women bodybuilding, determining your body type.

An article describing how to determine your body type. Female bodybuilding.

One time, a successful bodybuilder once told me that bodybuilding is 80% knowledgeable training and 80% nutrition. It is quite obvious this strong-armed man did not have strength in math, but never the less he was successful in pursuing a bodybuilding lifestyle. Wait a minute that was me who said that. Oh boy.

To determine what kind of nutrition and training you should follow, you must first determine what type of body style you have. It is not imperative to do this but it does help you achieve your desired effect. The three types of body styles are Ectomorph, Mesomorph and Endomorph.

Ectomorph: This type of person has a hard time putting on weight. That includes fat or muscle. Typically a thin, wiry type of build. In the bodybuilding circle this is a hardgainer. This person can eat anything all the time and will not gain an ounce. Usually a tad bit high strung. Just like someone hooked them up intravenously with double strength espresso. At the office, they can eat a bag of chips and wash it down with a soda and then go to break eating even more. For a bodybuilding diet this person can eat all the bread, rice and potatoes they want. Ectomorph must do enough cardio work to keep the heart healthy.

Mesomorph: This type of person can generally put on muscle very easily. They have more of an athletic build. Broad shoulders, wide back and thick thigh muscles are some of the characteristics of this type. This person does have to watch what they eat or they will be adding fat on their body. This person might have an aggressive type of behavior. Do first, ask later mentality. For the bodybuilding diet, eat enough calories to maintain and build muscle, but keep it a very clean and healthy diet or you will put on the fat. Do enough cardio work to keep the fat off. But dont overdo it or you will waste away your hard-earned muscle.

Endomorph: The only thing this type of person has to do is look at food and they gain weight. And not the right kind of weight. Some possible characteristics are narrow shoulders or a pear shaped body. Watching their diet is a big problem for this person. This person might have to monitor their health more closely for heart disease later in life. This person must strive to keep an active lifestyle to burn the calories. The bodybuilding diet, eat low calorie foods such as vegetables and fruits. Preferably in whole and natural form. Protein should come from very lean sources.

You can be a combination of two or even all three-body types. You can be a bodybuilder no matter what type of body you have. Its just that some will have an easier time than others will. After deciding on the type of body you have you can adjust your workout accordingly.

Home Gyms

The buzzword today is comfort. With the advancement in ideas and technology, there is an inclination to bring home the pleasures you generally find outside of it. A home gym is one such comfort. The television media is the perfect platform to showcase home gym products, and you find manufacturers advertising their products with all flair and gusto.

The presence of exercise equipment at your home is a great motivation to keep yourself in good physical shape. The benefits of having a gym at home are endless. Firstly, there would be no need for exorbitant membership fees, though gyms do offer the services of a trainer and in some cases massages, luxuries one does not necessarily get at home. Also, as many would agree, there is no more annoying feeling than a shortage of machines to work on. Having a personal set of equipment would mean more discipline and the right workouts at the right time.

Home gyms can be an exorbitant deal. However, if one is willing to purchase the machine and work with it diligently, then results are guaranteed over the long run. The exercise equipment can also be tuned to your personal needs, and a home gym rids the minor adjustments one would have to make in a public gym.

Before buying the equipment, though, the prudent thing to do would be to test it in the store you are buying from. That way you can be certain that the machines purchased matches up to your needs. The machines should be uncomplicated to assemble, mobile and easy to pack away. Incompetently made equipment can result in serious long-term injury.

If one keeps in mind these things while purchasing home gym equipment, then the personal gym is enjoyable and comfortable to work on. There is nothing like having exercise machines for workout 24/7.
